Peer Support

At our MILK! Drop-ins our Peer Supporters are easily identified by their t-shirts and name badges.

All our Peer Supporters are mothers who have breastfed their own children and have completed a ten - twelve week training programme leading to certification.

They are all volunteers and not health professionals. However, they have regular guidance and updating sessions from expert health professionals.

Look out for Peer Supporters at your antenatal class or on the postnatal ward at the hospital.

Peer Support Line: For help/info on breastfeeding, you can also call the mobile support line on 07770 704485 to chat to one of our trained supporters.

Drop-In Group

If you come to a MILK! Drop-in, please remember:

  • Your children are your own responsibility

  • Hot drinks must be kept within the designated area to ensure the safety of young children

  • A donation of 50p per family towards refreshments would be appreciated

  • Please help us to help other mothers who are learning to breastfeed

  • If you need to bottle feed for whatever reason, please do so discreetly

This is a parent led voluntary group so if you are able to help setting up or tidying up, it would be a great help!  Please speak to a Peer Supporter if you are able to help.
